I am sorry to say this web site is currently under construction. Please come back in the future to have a look at this awesome piece of the world wide web. In the meantime you can read some information about me and learn something about The Netherlands…

The past in a nutshell

I was born in Alkmaar, but grew up in Leusden. When I was 23 and finally knew I wanted to become a graphic designer, I chose to go to school in Rotterdam, because it was the best one out of five schools in the Netherlands. I took photography as my specialty and in my third year I had a pre-press internship at the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the Environment. My second internship was at Markzware (I asked for an English-speaking internship as an extra challenge), an American company in the Netherlands. After graduating, I was offered a job at the Ministry of Housing, Spatial Planning and the environment.

Recent past

After dreaming for years about going to Australia, I started planning this trip in 2008. It started out as just a trip to the land Down Under, but more and more destinations got my attention. So when I left the Netherlands at October 10, 2010 (10–10-10), I first visited London, Reykjavík (Iceland), Boston, New York, Niagara Falls, Toronto, Abbotsford (near Vancouver), Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, the Cook Islands, New Zealand before getting to Australia. On my personal web site you can read some of the stories on my blog and see heaps of photos I took during this amazing trip.

At the moment

Right now I work as a desktop publisher at PostMasters, a ship and print company in Lelystad. I am preparing for moving to the other side of the world in a couple of years.

My plan for the future

In the (near) future I plan to move to the other side of the world, I hope to find my place in New Zealand or Australia but wherever life takes me, I want to learn more about web design, digital publishing and about typography. I want to become Certified Expert in the Adobe software like InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop.

In my free time I enjoy going to a movie or have a cuppa with my mates. I am passionate about desktop publishing, Adobe and Apple. I love to go to seminars, Adobe Usergroup meetings, or browse the web for new stuff about typography, photography and design/software-related tutorials. I enjoy nature, hiking and recently fell in love with rugby.

I don’t like revolving doors because when they are big, they go too slow and when they’re small, there is no room to walk and you feel rushed.
